Thiruvananthapuram: Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal on Thursday said Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi plans to visit Hathras district in Uttar Pradesh where 121 people were killed in a stampede during a satsang function two days ago.
Congress’s organization general secretary Venugopal called it an unfortunate incident and said that Rahul Gandhi will talk to the affected people during his visit. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a judicial inquiry into the Hathras incident.
The police have registered an FIR against the organisers of the satsang and accused them of hiding evidence and violating rules.
