A Shiv Sena (Punjab) leader was attacked by four Nihangs

Ludhiana. A Shiv Sena (Punjab) leader was allegedly attacked by four men with swords here, police said.
Police said the condition of the leader is said to be critical. Police said Sandeep Thapar was allegedly attacked when he was coming out of the office of Sanvedana Trust located near Civil Hospital after attending a function organised on the occasion of the fourth death anniversary of the trust’s founder-president Ravinder Arora.

Police said that four ‘Nihangs’ waiting outside the office allegedly attacked Thapar with swords, causing head injuries. Police said that immediately after the attack, Thapar was taken to the hospital, where his condition is said to be critical. Police said that when Thapar was attacked, his security personnel were present on the spot. Police Inspector Gurjeet Singh said that the attackers fled from the spot. Nihangs belong to the Sikh community, whose members are usually seen wearing blue clothes and carrying traditional weapons.
