Patna. In Bihar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won eight parliamentary seats while it is still leading in four other seats. This information has come to light from the results available on the Election Commission’s website. According to the commission, the BJP has won Begusarai, Patna Sahib, East Champaran, West Champaran, Maharajganj, Araria, Nawada and Darbhanga seats.
Union Minister and BJP candidate from Begusarai seat Giriraj Singh defeated his nearest rival and Communist Party of India (CPI) candidate Awadhesh Kumar Rai by a margin of 81,480 votes. While Singh got 6,49,331 votes, Rai got 5,67,851 votes. Former Union Minister and BJP candidate from East Champaran Radha Mohan Singh defeated his nearest rival and Vikassheel Insaan Party candidate Rajesh Kumar by a margin of 88,287 votes. Singh got a total of 5,42,193 votes while Kumar got 4,53,906 votes.
Former Union Minister and BJP candidate Ravi Shankar Prasad defeated his nearest rival and Congress candidate Anshul Abhijeet by a margin of 1,53,846 votes. Prasad got a total of 5,88,270 votes while Abhijeet got 4,34,424 votes. BJP’s current MP from West Champaran Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal defeated his nearest rival and Congress’ Madan Mohan Tiwari by a margin of 1,36,568 votes. While Jaiswal got 5,80,421 votes, Tiwari got 4,43,853 votes.
Maharajganj’s sitting BJP MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal defeated his nearest rival and Congress candidate Akash Kumar Singh by a margin of 1,02,651 votes. While Sigriwal secured a total of 5,29,533 votes, Singh got 4,26,882 votes. Araria’s sitting BJP MP Pradeep Kumar Singh defeated his nearest rival Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) Shahnawaz by a margin of 20,094 votes. While Singh got a total of 6,00,146 votes, Shahnawaz got 5,80,052 votes.
Gopal Ji Thakur, the current BJP MP from Darbhanga, won the election by a margin of 1,78,156 votes over his nearest rival and RJD candidate Lalit Kumar Yadav. While Thakur got a total of 5,66,630 votes, Yadav got 3,88,474 votes.
BJP candidate from Nawada Vivek Thakur defeated his nearest rival and RJD candidate Shravan Kumar by a margin of 67,670 votes. While Thakur got a total of 4,10,608 votes, the RJD candidate got 3,42,938 votes. BJP, which is leading the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), had fielded its candidates on 17 out of the total 40 seats in Bihar as per the agreement with its other constituent parties. BJP is still leading on four seats in Bihar.
JDU won six seats, maintained lead on six
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United (JDU) has won six seats in the Lok Sabha elections while it is still leading on six other seats. This information has come to light in the data released by the Election Commission. JDU has won Shivhar, Valmikinagar, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Madhepura and Banka Lok Sabha seats. According to the commission, JDU candidate from Shivhar, Lovely Anand defeated his nearest rival Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Ritu Jaiswal by a margin of 29,143 votes.
Anand got a total of 4,76,612 votes while Jaiswal got 4,47,469 votes.
JDU candidate Sunil Kumar from Valmikinagar defeated his nearest rival RJD’s Deepak Yadav by a margin of 98,675 votes. While Kumar got a total of 5,23,422 votes, Yadav got 4,24,747 votes. JDU candidate Giridhari Yadav from Banka defeated his nearest rival RJD’s Jaiprakash Narayan Yadav by a margin of 1,03,844 votes. While Giridhari got a total of 5,06,678 votes, Jaiprakash got 4,02,834 votes.
JDU candidate from Supaul, Dileshwar Kamat defeated his nearest rival and RJD candidate Chandrahas Chaupal by a margin of 1,69,803 votes. While Kamat got a total of 5,95,038 votes, Chaupal got 4,25,235 votes. JDU candidate from Jhanjharpur, Rampreet Mandal defeated his nearest rival and Vikassheel Insan Party candidate Suman Kumar Mahaseth by a margin of 1,84,169 votes. While Mandal got a total of 5,33,032 votes, Mahaseth got 3,48,863 votes.
JD(U) candidate from Madhepura Dinesh Chandra Yadav defeated his nearest rival and RJD candidate Kumar Chandradeep by a margin of 1,74,534 votes. While Yadav got a total of 6,40,649 votes, Chandradeep got 4,66,115 votes. As per the agreement with its other constituent parties, JD(U) which is a part of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had fielded its candidates on 16 out of the total 40 seats in the state. The ruling JD(U) in Bihar is still leading on six seats.
