Raipur. Today, on completion of one year of successful action and awareness campaign 'Nijat' started by Bilaspur Police against illegal drugs in Bilaspur district, a program was organized by the police in the auditorium of Thakur Chhedilal Barrister Agricultural College, Koni. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao participated in this program as the chief guest. During this, while addressing the program, Deputy CM Sao said that a person who consumes drugs should think about the harm he is causing to the innocent children of his family. Due to drug addiction, many crimes and road accidents occur in the society. The government will strictly eliminate illegal drugs. This campaign of Bilaspur Police has been very successful in its objectives. It should be run everywhere.
Beltara MLA Sushant Shukla, underlining the change in people's lives due to awareness and counseling during the campaign, on his part handed over a letter of grant from MLA fund for de-addiction room for counseling in Sarkanda police station and help for other police stations. Said the thing.
Vice Chancellor ADN Vajpayee and Manju Didi of Brahma Kumaris praised the campaign of the police department in eradicating the evils caused by drugs and advised the common people to say yes to life and no to drugs while talking about staying away from drugs.
Before this, the Superintendent of Police gave the inaugural address in the program. In his address, he told how the Nijaat campaign is proving effective in preventing crimes. Besides, counseling is discouraging drug dealers and drug addicts through swift actions. The Superintendent of Police thanked all the people of Bilaspur, various sections, public representatives, institutions and media for joining this campaign.
In the program, the magazine “Nijat” prepared on Nijat campaign was also released and singing, dance and drama presentation focused on drug eradication was performed by the Brahma Kumaris group as well as students of various schools and colleges. Solo dance by Sumedha Biswas, group dance by the students of Government Primary School Hardi, drama by the students of Shankara Public School Hardi, group dance by the students of Science College and Heena Tandon and colleagues. Self-written songs were sung.
On behalf of the Chief Guest and special guests, individuals and groups who joined the Nijaat Abhiyan and helped in further spreading this campaign and helping in its success were honored with citations. In the programme, a large number of people from the city including all the gazetted officers of District Police Bilaspur, police station in-charge along with the reputed institutions of the city were present in the auditorium.
