BJP workers became Covid warriors during the pandemic, Congress people remained hidden in their homes: Anurag Thakur

The Uncut

Hamirpur. Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday claimed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers were on the streets to help people during the Covid-19 pandemic, while those associated with the Congress were hiding in their homes. Addressing rallies in Dehra and Nadaun assembly constituencies of Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh, the senior BJP leader said, “We not only saved the lives of the countrymen during the time of Covid, but also provided 220 crore free vaccines in record time.” He said that BJP’s “Corona warriors” delivered food, equipment and medicines to the people of Himachal Pradesh during the pandemic.

Thakur, Member of Parliament from Hamirpur, said, “With my personal efforts, I provided health facilities worth Rs 10.3 crore in Himachal Pradesh. “To ensure that there is no shortage of oxygen in Himachal Pradesh and especially in Hamirpur constituency, I got an oxygen bank started here, which provided uninterrupted oxygen supply to 1,400 beds.” Appealing to the voters to ensure BJP’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections, he said, “By running Operation Ganga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured the safe return of more than 27,000 Indian citizens trapped in the Ukraine-Russia war. These included 300 students from Himachal Pradesh.”

He said, “This is Modi’s new India, which brought our Sikh brothers and Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan to India with full respect. During the time of Covid, about three crore Indians from all over the world came to India safely. “It is the Modi government that made Indian sailors return home safely even after they were sentenced to death in Qatar.” Thakur claimed that if the ‘India’ alliance got a chance to form the government, the country would be ruined and it would become a “colony of foreign powers”.

Thakur alleged that leaders of Congress and opposition coalition partners are advocating terrorists and pro-Pakistan elements, but their “nefarious intentions” will not be fulfilled as people know their “evil intentions”. Accusing Congress of adopting a policy of appeasement towards the minority community, he said that nepotism and terrorism were prevalent during the tenure of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. Thakur said the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 10-year tenure have left an “indelible mark” on the hearts and minds of the people.
