Chhattisgarh: Instructions to make all necessary preparations to prevent diseases during rain

Raipur. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has asked to make all necessary preparations to prevent diseases during the rains. Officials gave this information on Monday. Officials said that Chief Minister Sai has instructed the officials to remain constantly alert from the capital to the village panchayat to prevent possible diseases during the monsoon.

He said that Sai has asked to ensure availability of essential life saving medicines in sufficient quantity in all the hospitals and health centres of the state. Sai has also instructed to repair hand pumps, tube wells and water sources.
Officials said that the Chief Minister has asked the administrative staff along with the staff of Public Health Engineering, Urban Bodies and Health Department to remain alert to deal with rain-borne diseases and other problems.

The Chief Minister has said that during the rainy season, there is a high risk of seasonal diseases like vomiting, diarrhea, malaria, etc. He said that the outbreak of these diseases can be avoided by taking small measures like cleaning drinking water sources. The health department staff should keep a constant vigil in the villages and areas sensitive to infectious diseases in the state.

Officials said that they have instructed to create awareness among people about prevention in areas where snakebite cases are more common, including Jashpur region. Also, they have asked to ensure availability of anti-snake venom medicine in sufficient quantity in all primary health centres and community health centres.
