Dhamtari: Two girls died after drowning in a pond

Dhamtari. Two girls have died due to drowning in a pond in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district. Police officials gave this information on Tuesday. Police officials said that two 12-year-old girls – Deepali Yadav and Omlata Yadav – died due to drowning while bathing in a pond in Peeparchhedi village of Arjuni police station area in the district. They said that the police have received information that both the girls and a six-year-old boy had gone to bathe in the pond, during which both the girls drowned.

He said that when the villagers came to know about the incident, they took out the girls and took them to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead. Police officials said that when the police came to know about the incident, a police team was sent to the spot and the bodies of both the girls were taken for post-mortem. He said that the police has registered a case and is investigating.
