Five Naxalites killed, three soldiers injured in an encounter in Narayanpur

Narayanpur. Security forces killed five Naxalites in an encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Narayanpur district on Friday. Police officials gave this information. Police officials said that security forces killed five Naxalites and three Naxalites were injured in an encounter on the border of Narayanpur, Dantewada and Kondagaon districts.

Officials said that on Thursday night, security forces were sent to Mungedi and Gobel areas located on the border of Narayanpur, Dantewada and Kondagaon districts as part of the anti-Naxal operation. They said that when the security forces were in the Gobel area today, the Naxalites started firing, after which the security forces also retaliated, there was intermittent firing from both sides throughout the day.

Officials said that in this encounter, the security forces have so far recovered the bodies of five Naxalites, a large number of Naxalites are likely to be injured in this incident. They said that three jawans of Narayanpur DRG were also injured in the encounter, the condition of the injured jawans is normal and out of danger. Officials said that the forces of Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Jagdalpur DRG and 45th Battalion of Indo-Tibetan Border Police are involved in this joint operation. They said that the search operation is going on in the area.

With this incident, 123 Naxalites have been killed in different encounters with security forces in the state so far this year. Earlier, on May 23, seven Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security personnel in the forest on the Narayanpur-Bijapur inter-district border, while on May 10, 12 Naxalites were killed in Bijapur district. Police said that on April 30, ten Naxalites including three female Naxalites were killed in an encounter in the forest on the border of Narayanpur and Kanker districts and on April 16, 29 Naxalites were killed in an encounter in Kanker district.
