Bilaspur. Police have arrested an employment assistant on charges of raping a 10-year-old girl in Chhattisgarh’s Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district. Police gave this information on Wednesday. Police officials said that the accused has been identified as employment assistant Santosh Kumar Karet (47). Pendra police station in-charge Naveen Borkar said that the incident took place on April 30 and the girl’s mother informed the police about the incident on May 20, after which a case was registered against Santosh and he was arrested. Santosh is a handicapped.
According to Borkar, the victim’s mother told in her complaint that she and Santosh are neighbours and on the afternoon of April 30, the accused’s mother asked the girl to sweep outside the house and she went out for some work. The police station in-charge quoted the complaint and said that during this time the accused Santosh reached there and he forcibly took the girl inside the house and raped the girl by threatening her and threatened her not to tell anyone about this.
Police officials said that the girl was scared after the incident and did not tell anyone about the rape. He said that meanwhile, Santosh kept scaring the girl continuously, so the girl informed her mother about this, after which on May 20, the girl and her mother reached the police station and registered a case with the police.
