Government should take steps to correct ‘irregularities’ in NEET exam results: Priyanka Gandhi

The Uncut

New Delhi. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday said the government should take steps to correct the “irregularities” in the results of the medical entrance exam NEET (UG). The National Examination Agency (NTA) said on Saturday that the Ministry of Education has constituted a four-member committee to review the grace marks given to more than 1,500 candidates in the exam. This step has been taken at a time when there are allegations that the marks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Graduate (NEET-UG) medical entrance exam have been inflated, due to which 67 candidates have got the first position.

Priyanka Gandhi posted on ‘X’, “Lakhs of children prepare hard for exams like NEET and spend the most precious moments of their lives in this preparation. The whole family puts their faith and strength in this effort. But year after year, paper leaks and result-related irregularities have come to the fore in these exams.” She asked, “Shouldn’t the accountability of the agencies conducting the exam be fixed? Shouldn’t the government seriously consider the examination system, leaving its careless attitude?” The Congress General Secretary said, “We cannot see the dreams of our young colleagues being shattered like this. This injustice being done by the system with their hard work should stop. The government will have to take serious steps to correct these irregularities.”
