Thrissur. A man allegedly attacked his 79-year-old grandfather following a dispute over the disappearance of a pet cat in Edakkulam, Thrissur, police said on Sunday. The elderly man suffered head, arm and leg injuries in the attack and is now undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College. According to police, the incident took place on Saturday night and Keshavan’s condition is currently stable.
According to the grandfather’s statement, there was an argument between him and his grandson Sreekumar over the disappearance of their pet cat. In a fit of rage, Sreekumar allegedly attacked his grandfather with a weapon. The accused himself took the injured grandfather to the hospital, from where the police took him into custody. Police said that it is suspected that he attacked his grandfather under the influence of alcohol.
