International organizations should take cognizance of human rights violations in PoK: Rajnath

The Uncut

Sambalpur/Keonjhar/Khurda. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that international organizations should take cognizance of human rights violations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PIK). Addressing an election rally in Khurda, Odisha, he said, “Human rights are being violated in PoK… International human rights agencies should take cognizance of the incidents happening in PoK.” He said that the people of PoK now want to join India instead of living under Pakistani administration.

Singh said, “I had said earlier that we do not need to attack anyone, they will come on their own. “Two days ago, I saw a video in which people from PoK were seen uprooting the Pakistani flagpole.” He said, “POK is and will remain an integral part of India.” The Defense Minister said that barring a few isolated incidents, terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir has gone to ‘zero’ under the NDA regime, whereas there were many terrorist attacks under the previous UPA regime.

He said, “In 2008, our IPS officers became victims of bullets in Mumbai (26/11 attacks)… What was the then Congress government doing? But now, no one dares to attack India. “People have understood India’s ability to eliminate terrorism not only within the country but also across the border.” The Defense Minister said, “However, we have never attacked any country or tried to capture an inch of land of any other country. But Pakistan always tried to create unrest in our country.” Singh also addressed two other rallies in Rairakhol of Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat and Patana of Keonjhar parliamentary constituency.

He alleged that Congress is misleading people by promising reservation on the basis of religion, which is not acceptable as per the Constitution. He said, “Earlier the Supreme Court had rejected such reservation given in two universities.” Noting that the Modi government has abolished ‘Triple Talaq’, he said that BJP does politics not for votes but for nation building.

Singh alleged that Odisha remained backward during 50 years of Congress rule and 24 years of BJD rule. He said, “From Jawaharlal Nehru to Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Manmohan Singh, everyone failed to eliminate poverty from the country. But Prime Minister Modi has brought 25 crore people out of poverty.” The Defense Minister said that during the last 10 years, Prime Minister Modi has provided permanent houses, piped water to homes, free cooking gas, free food grains, toilets and many other facilities to the poor people of India.

He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ensured the construction of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya as per its promise, thereby silencing the critics. Singh said, “Ram Lala has come to his temple, now Ram Rajya will be established in India.” Singh criticized the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government of Odisha for not implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme that provides free healthcare to the people. He said, “If voted to power, the BJP government will issue Ayushman Bharat cards to the people of Odisha.” The Defense Minister also raised the issue of Ratna Bhandar (Treasury of Lord Jagannath) and held the BJD government of Odisha responsible for the missing keys. He said, “After forming the government in Odisha, BJP will open the gem store of Lord Jagannath in Puri temple.”
