JEE Advanced results declared, Ved Lahoti tops the exam

New Delhi. The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Advanced were declared on Sunday morning, in which Ved Lahoti of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi zone topped the exam by scoring 355 out of 360 marks, the highest so far. Officials gave this information. The previous record was 352 marks, which was set in 2022.

According to IIT Madras, which conducted the exam this time, Dwija Dharmeshkumar Patel of IIT Bombay zone got 322 marks out of 360 and topped among girl students, while she was ranked seventh in the country. Four out of the top 10 candidates are from IIT Madras. Aditya (Delhi zone) stood second in the exam and Bhogalpalli Sandesh (Madras zone) stood third.

Rhythm Kedia (IIT Roorkee Zone), Putti Kushal Kumar (IIT Madras), Rajdeep Mishra (IIT Bombay Zone), Koduri Tejeshwar (IIT Madras Zone), Dhruvi Hemant Doshi (IIT Bombay Zone) and Alladabona SSDB Siddhvik Suhas (IIT Madras Zone) are the next ranked in the same order.

IIT Madras zone has the highest number of candidates qualifying, followed by IIT Delhi zone and IIT Bombay zone. Of the top 500 successful candidates, 145 are from IIT Madras zone, followed by 136 from IIT Bombay zone and 122 from IIT Delhi zone. A total of seven foreign candidates have cleared the exam, while 179 Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) have also cleared the exam.

Explaining the criteria for inclusion in the rank list, a senior IIT Madras official said, “The total marks will be calculated as the sum of marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates have to meet the subject-wise and overall qualifying marks to be included in the rank list.” A total of 1,80,200 candidates appeared in both the IIT-JEE Advanced exams, out of which 48,248 qualified. Of the total qualified candidates, 7,964 are female candidates.

The JEE Main exam, which is a qualifying exam for JEE-Advanced, was conducted for admission to engineering colleges across the country. The exam was held on May 26. The ‘Joint Seat Allocation’ (JOSAA) counselling will begin from Monday.
