Lok Sabha elections: Sonia, Rahul cast their votes in New Delhi constituency

The Uncut

New Delhi: Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi and former party president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday cast their votes in the New Delhi parliamentary constituency in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. They reached the polling station at Nirman Bhawan at around 9.30 am and exercised their franchise.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, her son Rehan Rajiv Vadra and daughter Miraya Vadra also cast their votes.
This time the Congress Party’s candidate is not in the electoral fray from New Delhi Parliamentary constituency because Somnath Bharti of Congress’s ally Aam Aadmi Party is contesting the election here.

Under the ‘India’ alliance, Aam Aadmi Party is contesting on four seats in Delhi and Congress on three seats.
Somnath Bharti is contesting against Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Bansuri Swaraj in the New Delhi parliamentary constituency.
