Maharashtra’s ‘Mahayuti’ government gave gifts to Adani Group in its last days: Congress

The Uncut

New Delhi. Congress on Tuesday, shortly before the possible announcement of the schedule of Maharashtra Assembly elections, alleged that the ‘Mahayuti’ government of the state has given gifts to the Adani Group in its last days. The ruling ‘Mahayuti’ in Maharashtra includes Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

The Election Commission will announce the dates of assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand on Tuesday. The tenure of Maharashtra Assembly is ending on 26th November while the tenure of Jharkhand Assembly is going to end on 5th January next year.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh posted on social media platform ‘X’, “It is expected that the Election Commission will announce the dates of Maharashtra Assembly elections at 3:30 pm today. “The ‘Mahayuti’ knows they are not coming back to power, so in desperation they have spent their last few days gifting ‘Modani’ at the expense of the people of Mumbai and Maharashtra.”

He claimed, “On September 15, 2024, ‘Modani’ got the energy contract to supply 6,600 MW of power. We have already told that due to this consumers will have to pay more money. On September 30, 2024, 255 acres of ecologically sensitive ‘Salt Pan’ land was handed over to Modani. On October 10, 2024, 140 acres of land in Madh was handed over to ‘Modani’. On October 14, 2024, 124 acres of land from Deonar Landfill in Mumbai was given to ‘Modani’.

Ramesh said, “There are clear instructions from above that Mahayuti’s ‘electoral future’ is bleak, but before losing power it will have to protect the ‘financial future’ of ‘Modani’.” In the report of American organization ‘Hindenberg Research’, Adani Group was accused of irregularities and Congress is continuously attacking this business group for this. Adani Group has rejected all the allegations.
