Modi met Advani and Joshi after being elected leader of the NDA parliamentary party

The Uncut

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met senior BJP leaders LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi at their residences ahead of staking claim to form government at the Centre for the third consecutive time. Modi met Advani soon after being elected leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party, leader of the BJP parliamentary party and leader of the BJP in Lok Sabha. After meeting Advani, he went to the residence of Joshi, the former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In a post on ‘X’ about his meetings, Modi said, “Visited Advani ji’s residence and sought his blessings. Every BJP worker is inspired by Advani ji’s historic efforts to strengthen the party.” In another post, he said, “Met Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi ji. I learned a lot from him when I was working in the party organisation. He is highly respected all over India for his intelligence and knowledge.” Modi also met former President Ram Nath Kovind after this.

He said, “Met former President Ram Nath Kovind ji. I love interacting with him. Especially thanks to his unique approach to matters of policy and empowerment of the poor.” Modi later went to Rashtrapati Bhavan and met President Draupadi Murmu and staked claim to form the government. In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has got 240 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha, while the party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has got 293 seats. The number of seats of the NDA is more than the magic figure of majority.
