Narayanpur. Security forces have killed a Naxalite in an encounter in the border area of Naxal-affected Narayanpur and Bijapur districts of Chhattisgarh. Police officials gave this information on Friday. Police officials said that a Naxalite was killed in an encounter with security forces in the forest on the border of Narayanpur-Bijapur districts on Friday. They said that the encounter took place on Friday morning when a team of Special Task Force (STF) was returning after an anti-Naxal operation.
Officials said that the STF personnel were part of a joint team of security forces, which killed seven Naxalites in an encounter in Pallevaya-Handawada area of Bijapur-Narayanpur border on Thursday. He said that after Thursday’s encounter, when the security forces were returning to their camp on Friday, the Naxalites opened fire on the STF team, after which the security forces also retaliated.
Officials said that after the firing stopped, security forces recovered the body of a uniformed Naxalite from the spot.
He said that detailed information is awaited. With this action, a total of eight Naxalites have been killed in this operation which was started on May 21.
