Hyderabad: Opposition parties BRS and BJP in Telangana on Tuesday criticised the state Congress government’s decision to give ‘bonus’ over MSP (minimum support price) to farmers growing only good quality paddy in the upcoming Kharif season.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao wrote on social media platform For good quality paddy.
He said this was a fraud, a betrayal by the Congress. Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson N.V. Subhash alleged that the Congress had “betrayed” farmers by deciding to give bonus only on good quality paddy, while it had promised a bonus of Rs 500 on normal paddy.
The BJP also objected to the state government’s decision to invite former Congress president Sonia Gandhi to the state Foundation Day celebrations.
