PM Modi offers ‘Surya Arghya’ at Vivekananda Rock Memorial

Kanyakumari: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday offered ‘Surya Arghya’ during sunrise at Vivekananda Rock Memorial here. Modi has reached the rock memorial for two days of meditation practice. The Prime Minister offered ‘Surya Arghya’ after bowing with folded hands. ‘Surya Arghya’ is a tradition associated with spiritual practice, in which water is offered to Lord Sun and he is saluted.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) posted a short video on the social media platform ‘X’ in which the Prime Minister is seen offering water to the Sun from a pot and chanting a rosary. “Sunrise, Surya Arghya, Spirituality,” the party said in the post.

The BJP also posted some pictures of Prime Minister Modi, in which he is seen meditating in a Dhyan Mandapam wearing a saffron kurta, shawl and dhoti. In the pictures, the incense stick placed in front of him can be seen burning slowly.

Modi also took a round of the mandapam with japa mala in his hands. The Prime Minister started meditating at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial on the evening of May 30 and will remain in this posture till the evening of June 1.
