New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday condoled the death of media icon Ramoji Rao and described him as a visionary who brought about a revolution in Indian media. In a post on social media platform X, Modi said Rao’s rich contributions have left an indelible mark on journalism and the film industry. Through his remarkable efforts, he set new benchmarks of innovation and excellence in the media and entertainment world, Modi said.

“Ramoji Rao Garu had a passion for India’s development. I am fortunate to have had many opportunities to interact with him and benefit from his wisdom. My condolences to his family, friends and countless fans in this difficult time. Om Shanti,” the Prime Minister posted.

Ramoji Rao died in a hospital on Saturday morning. He was 88 years old. According to ETV Telangana, a channel of the Ramoji Group, Rao was ill and was undergoing treatment for the last few days. He breathed his last at 4.50 am today.
