Police busted Naxalite camp on Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border

Gadchiroli. Police busted a Naxal camp in Gadchiroli near the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border, but the Naxals managed to escape to the forest taking advantage of the narrow lanes of the area, a senior police officer gave this information on Friday.

Superintendent of Police Niloptal said that the Naxal camp was busted in Bhimankhoji after receiving information about the presence of armed Naxalites of the banned organization in Tipagad and Kasansur ‘Dalam’. He said that after receiving the information, a team of C-60 commandos and CRPF 113A Company based in Gyarpatti launched an operation on Thursday evening under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Kumar Chinta.

The officer said, “On seeing the C-60 commandos, the Naxalites took advantage of the narrow lanes of the area and managed to escape towards the forest. We seized six pitthus (bags used by Naxalites), books, medicines and cooked food etc. The operation team reached the nearest armed outpost (AOP) on Friday morning.” He said that this is the third anti-Naxal operation conducted by the district police in the last three days.
