Prajwal Revanna’s SIT custody extended till June 10

The Uncut

Bangalore. A Bengaluru court on Thursday extended the SIT custody of former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of rape and sexual assault of several women, till June 10. Revanna was produced before a special court of elected representatives, which on May 31 sent him to the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) till June 6.

Revanna (33), the grandson of Janata Dal Secular (JDS) chief and former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, lost the Hassan seat in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. On Thursday, the court extended his SIT custody after he was told that he needed to be kept in custody in connection with the investigation. The SIT sought additional time to gather evidence and question the accused in detail. SIT officials arrested Revanna on May 31 as soon as he arrived at Kempegowda International Airport from Germany. He left for Germany on April 27, a day after polling in the Hassan seat.
