Pune car accident: Court sends minor’s father to police custody in driver’s abduction case

Pune. A Pune court on Tuesday sent the father of a teenager allegedly involved in a Porsche car accident to police custody till May 31 in the case of alleged kidnapping and confinement of the family driver. The court also extended the police custody of the teenager’s grandfather, accused in the same case, till May 31. Both the accused were produced before Judicial Magistrate (First Class) A.A. Pandey.

Both have been booked under sections 365 (kidnapping) and 368 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code. Two IT professionals were killed after being hit by a speeding Porsche car allegedly driven by a minor in the Kalyani Nagar area of ​​Pune city on the morning of May 19. Police claim that the teenager was drunk at the time of the accident.

The minor’s father and real estate businessman Vishal Agarwal (50) is already in judicial custody in a case registered under the Juvenile Justice Act. The police have alleged that Vishal Agarwal and his father Surendra Agarwal (77) pressured their driver to take responsibility for the accident by luring him with money and threatening him. Surendra Agarwal was arrested in this connection on May 25 and then the court sent him to police custody till May 28.
