Pune. Pune Police on Friday filed an application to take into custody the father of a minor accused of running over two people on a motorcycle with a Porsche car in Kalyani Nagar area on May 19 while in an inebriated condition. Pune Police has filed an application for the custody of the teenager’s father in connection with the alleged blood sample swapping case. The minor’s father is accused in the blood sample swapping case along with two doctors of Sasoon General Hospital.
“We have applied for custody of the minor’s father on a production warrant from the Yerawada Central Jail, where he is lodged after being remanded to judicial custody today. After we get his custody on production warrant, we will produce him in court and seek his custody for investigation,” a senior Crime Branch official said. According to the police, the minor’s father and Dr Ajay Tawde (a doctor arrested in the blood sample swapping case) called each other around 12 times while the samples were being collected for alcohol consumption. According to the police, the minor’s blood sample was replaced with that of a woman to destroy evidence of alcohol consumption.
