Raipur: The picture of Raipur South Assembly by-election is now clear from the Congress point of view. Congress has expressed confidence in Youth Congress State President Akash Sharma. On the recommendation of the state organization, its official announcement has also been made from Delhi.
Akash Sharma was born on 29 October 1989 in Raipur. Father Arun Sharma is an officer in the government department, while mother Karunamoyee Sharma is a housewife. His grandfather Pt. Dashrath Sharma was a school teacher in village Arjunda. Akash Sharma’s current residence is Raipur. In the year 2018, Akash was married to Apoorva Tiwari, daughter of Rajesh Tiwari, resident of Kanker.
Earned master’s degree in commerce
Akash Sharma was educated in Raipur. After completing school, he passed B.Com and then M.Com examination from Maharaja Agrasen International College, Raipur in the year 2017.

Despite the family not having any political background, Akash Sharma was interested in politics since his school days. He joined the National Students Union of India (NSUI) in 2007 since his school days. Was made the college unit president of NSUI Raipur. In the year 2011, he was elected NSUI Raipur District Vice President.
Elected as Chhattisgarh NSUI President in the year 2014. After a tenure of three years, in the year 2017, Akash was included in the NSUI National Committee as Secretary and given the charge of Central Uttar Pradesh and Odisha state. In 2022, he won the election of State President of the organization in Youth Congress and after the interview took over the responsibility of State President.
