New Delhi. Reliance Industries and Tata Group have been featured in the prestigious magazine ‘Time”s list of the world’s 100 most influential companies for the year 2024. Reliance has been featured in Time’s list for the second time. Jio Platforms, the firm that holds the group’s digital assets, was included in the first Time 100 most influential companies list in 2021.
Vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute is another Indian company included in this list.
Time has listed Reliance in the ‘Titan’ category. The list also includes five categories – Leader, Disruptor, Innovator and Pioneer. Tata has also been listed in the ‘Titan’ category while Serum Institute has been given a place in the ‘Pioneer’ category. Time has described Reliance as India’s most valuable company and said that under the leadership of Mukesh Ambani, it has expanded by entering the energy, retail and telecom sectors. It also mentions the $8.5 billion deal to merge Reliance’s broadcasting business with Disney’s Indian business.
Describing Serum Institute as the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, Time said that it produces 3.5 billion vaccine doses every year. Referring to the Tata Group, the American magazine said that it has a vast portfolio ranging from steel, software, watches, marine cables and chemicals to salt, grains, air-conditioners, fashion and hotels.
Time said, “In February, Tata’s combined market capitalization reached US$365 billion, which is more than the entire economy of India’s neighbor and rival Pakistan.” This is the fourth edition of the Time list of the 100 most influential companies in the world. It includes companies that have made an extraordinary impact around the world.
