Kolkata: Sadhus of West Bengal have decided to take out a rally in Kolkata on May 24 to protest against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s remarks against some sadhus of Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram Sangh.
Members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bangiya Sanyasi Samaj, the apex body of sadhus in West Bengal, will organize ‘Sant Swabhiman Yatra’ in North Kolkata. VHP leader Sourish Mukherjee said, “The Chief Minister is making such comments because of vote bank politics.”
We strongly condemn this. The sadhus and saints of West Bengal will take out a rally against these comments. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said that some sadhus of influential monasteries in West Bengal are working on the instructions of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the elections.
