New Delhi: Security has been beefed up in several parts of the national capital ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Dwarka in south-west Delhi. Police gave this information on Wednesday. Delhi Police has issued an advisory informing people about the change in traffic routes and has asked travelers to avoid certain routes.

A large number of police forces have been deployed to maintain law and order. A senior police officer said, “Along with paramilitary forces, police forces will also be deployed. Since Dwarka region also shares its borders with Haryana, there will be strict surveillance and additional check points to ensure smooth functioning.”

According to the advisory, the Prime Minister will address a public meeting at 6 pm at the DDA park opposite Vegas Mall in Sector 14 of Dwarka. The advisory said that a large number of people are expected to come to listen to him, which may affect the traffic on the surrounding roads.

As per the advisory, traffic has been diverted at ISKCON Chowk, Om Apartment Chowk, DXR T-Point on Golf Course Road, Dwarka Mor, Kargil Chowk and Rajpuri Crossing, among other places.

In the advisory, people have been asked to avoid going to Dwarka Road No. 201, NSUT T-Point to Vegas Mall, Peepal Chowk, Road No. 205 and Road No. 210.
