The Uncut

Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad ensured a place in the play-offs after their Indian Premier League match against Gujarat Titans was washed out without a single ball being bowled, here on Thursday. Even the toss could not take place in the match due to continuous rain. The umpires finally decided to cancel the match at 10:10 pm.

This is the second consecutive match of Gujarat Titans, which was already out of the play-off race, which was washed out due to rain. Earlier on May 13, the team’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad had to be canceled without even a single ball being bowled due to rain.
Due to the cancellation of the match, both Sunrisers and Titans got one point each. Sunrisers have 15 points in 13 matches and the team has reached the third position in the points table. Now among the bottom seven teams in the league table, only Chennai Super Kings can collect 15 or more points, which has ensured Sunrisers’ place in the play-offs. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals are currently at the first and second position respectively in the points table and have already confirmed their place in the play-offs. Knight Riders have 19 points while Royals have 16 points.
