TDP and JDU should demand the post of Lok Sabha Speaker: Aditya Thackeray

The Uncut

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (Uttar Pradesh) leader Aditya Thackeray on Friday said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Janata Dal United (JDU), which played a key role in forming the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre, should stick to the post of Lok Sabha Speaker.

In a post on ‘X’, Thackeray claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will try to break its allies as soon as it forms the government. He said, “A humble suggestion to the potential allies of the new NDA. Get the post of Speaker (Lok Sabha Speaker).” Thackeray also indirectly referred to the split in the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

He said, “BJP’s tricks have been experienced. As soon as they form government with you, they will break promises and try to break your parties as well. You must have already experienced this. Since BJP has fallen short of the majority required to form government, support of TDP and JDU has become crucial for Narendra Modi’s third term as Prime Minister.”

The NDA has got a total of 293 seats, out of which BJP has 240 seats. TDP with 16 MPs is the second largest party in the NDA and JDU with 12 MPs is the third largest party.
