16 Naxalites arrested in Bijapur district

Bijapur. Security forces have arrested 16 Naxalites from different places in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Bijapur district. Police officials gave this information on Thursday. They said that security forces arrested 16 Naxalites in separate operations in Bijapur and Usur police station areas of the district. They said that Bijapur Kotwali police station personnel and DRG personnel arrested 11 Naxalites from Gorna-Padiyapara and DRG and Central Reserve Police Force personnel arrested five Naxalites in Usur police station area.

Police officials said that the arrested Naxalites are accused of planting landmines, blocking roads and putting up banners during the shutdown. They said that the arrested Naxalites have been working in the Maoist organization for the last few years. Officials said that the campaign against Naxalites is going on in the area.
