Atishi becoming CM will be a matter of concern for national security: BJP

The Uncut

New Delhi/Palghar. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) termed the selection of Atishi as the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Legislative Party in Delhi as a ‘matter of concern’ for national security and said that it is ‘injustice’ to the people of the city. BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh issued a statement on Tuesday criticizing the decision to make Atishi the Chief Minister of Delhi.

He said, “It is worrying that AAP has chosen Atishi as the Chief Minister even though her parents wanted to prevent the hanging of a terrorist responsible for the attack on the Indian Parliament.” He said that this decision raises serious questions about AAP’s commitment to national security.

Chugh said, “Appointing someone whose family sympathised with a convicted terrorist as the leader of the legislative party is injustice to the people of Delhi.” He accused the AAP of being involved in corruption and failing to protect the interests of Delhi citizens. He said, “This decision has implications not just for Delhi but for the entire country. The people of Delhi should reject leaders who compromise the security of the country and the safety of citizens.”

Rahul Gandhi’s passport should be cancelled: Athawale

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Tuesday demanded that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s passport should be cancelled to prevent him from “defaming” India during his foreign trips. Addressing a press conference in Palghar, Minister of State for Social Justice Athawale said that it does not befit Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, to make “anti-reservation” statements.

Responding to a question about some comments made by Rahul Gandhi during his recent US visit, Athawale said, “Rahul Gandhi goes abroad and defames India by making such statements. His passport should be cancelled to stop him from making such comments.” Dalit leader Athawale said that Congress will end one day, but reservation will not end.

Athawale’s Republican Party of India (A) is part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He said that allying with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar is not detrimental to the prospects of the Mahayuti (grand alliance).
