Raipur. During his stay in Raigarh district, Governor Ramen Deka held a meeting with the district officials in the Collectorate hall regarding development and other activities. He said that the full benefit of the government’s flagship schemes should reach the last person. Governor Deka directed the officials to bring about necessary progress by discussing on topics like water conservation and water harvesting, plantation and environmental enhancement, traditional and organic farming promotion, TB eradication, road safety etc.

The Governor took information about the efforts and progress made for TB elimination in the district. He talked about better monitoring for TB elimination and making people aware about its treatment. Along with taking information about Red Cross, he also gave instructions to conduct Red Cross elections.

Governor Deka gave special instructions regarding tree plantation and said that proper arrangements should be made to keep the saplings alive along with planting them. He talked about selecting species of plants that grow quickly for plantation. Governor Deka also took information about traditional agriculture and promotion of organic farming. He gave instructions to make farmers aware and train them to promote organic farming. He took information about the maintenance of places of cultural and archaeological importance in the district and also gave instructions to store information related to such important places digitally.

Governor Deka said in the meeting that youth are getting affected a lot due to drugs and addiction, ensure effective implementation of all necessary measures to prevent this. He also took information about the efforts being made for road safety. Governor Deka asked to make special efforts to connect the people living in tribal areas with the mainstream of society and provide other basic services including health, education. He also asked to increase cooperative activities in tribal areas so that the people living in the region can be empowered and connected to the mainstream.

He gave instructions to conduct development works for the special backward tribes residing in the district through PM Janman Yojana. Along with this, he encouraged all the officers to discharge their departmental responsibilities with full devotion and human values ​​and to work with better innovation. Joint Secretary to the Governor Mrs. Hina Animesh Netam and officials of the administration and police of Raigarh district, forest and other departments were present in the meeting.
