Kolkata: The defamation case filed by West Bengal Governor C.V. Anand Bose against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be heard in the Calcutta High Court today i.e. Wednesday. Bose had filed the defamation case against Banerjee on June 28. A day earlier, Banerjee had alleged that women had complained to her that they were afraid to go to the Raj Bhavan due to the “activities” taking place there.

According to the high court website, the defamation suit filed by Bose against Banerjee will be heard before a bench of Justice Krishna Rao on Wednesday. During an administrative meeting at the state secretariat on June 27, Banerjee had claimed that “women have told me that they are afraid to go to the Raj Bhavan due to the recent incidents there.”

Kolkata Police had launched an investigation after a woman contractual employee of Raj Bhavan accused Bose of molestation on May 2. Under Article 361 of the Constitution, no criminal proceedings can be initiated against a governor during his tenure.
