I sold my personal property after the release of ‘Emergency’ was postponed: Kangana Ranaut

The Uncut

New Delhi. Actress and MP Kangana Ranaut said that she was forced to sell her property in Mumbai after the release of her film ‘Emergency’ was postponed due to delay in getting a certificate from the censor board. Earlier this month, there were reports that actress and filmmaker Kangana sold her bungalow at Pali Hill in Bandra, Mumbai for Rs 32 crore. Kangana had bought this property in 2017 for Rs 20.7 crore.

Ranaut, who plays the role of former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi in the film, said in News18 channel’s program Chaupal, “I had put my personal property at stake for this film. It was to be shown in theaters but now it is not being released. So it is only property that can be sold in difficult times.” Ranaut’s political film ‘Emergency’ was scheduled to release on September 6 but the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) did not approve it.
