‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a mix of myth and reality: Amitabh Bachchan

New Delhi. Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan on Friday expressed gratitude to fans for the love showered on the film “Kalki 2898 AD” and praised director Nag Ashwin for reinventing the Hindu epic Mahabharata keeping the modern-day audience in mind.

Amitabh (81) has been receiving rave reviews for his role as the immortal warrior Ashwatthama in the big-budget science fiction film. The film, which released worldwide on June 27, has grossed over Rs 700 crore.
Expressing his gratitude to fans, Bachchan wrote on ‘X’ that he watched ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ thrice recently.

He said, “This experience keeps growing… every time you watch and appreciate the tireless efforts made by the director in materializing this huge imagination, and presenting it in such a manner that it becomes a historic film… This film is historic not only in terms of its commercial prospects, but also in terms of the ‘bold’ values ​​of the director in presenting the story of Mahabharata after 6000 years in today’s modern era.” Bachchan said, “Yes, it is a very great film… but it is also an experience… an experience of a mixture of myth and reality.”
