Korba. Police have recovered the bodies of a husband and wife from a house in Korba district of Chhattisgarh. Police officials gave this information on Tuesday. Police suspect that the husband killed his wife and later committed suicide by hanging himself. Police officials said that the police have recovered the bodies of Jagannath Manjhwar (37) and his wife Santoshi Bai (35) in Thengrimar village under Shyang police station area, about 90 km from the district headquarters.
He said that according to preliminary information, there was a dispute between village resident Jagannath and his wife Santoshi on Monday morning over some issue. During the dispute, Jagannath got angry and attacked Santoshi’s neck with an arrow. Santoshi died due to this. Officials said that after the incident, Jagannath hanged himself in the room and committed suicide.
He said that when other family members came to know about the incident, they informed the police. Later, the police recovered the bodies of the couple. Officials said that Jagannath used to work as a labourer. Apart from his wife Santoshi, the family consists of his mother Itwaro Bai and a 12-year-old son. He said that the police have registered a case and the matter is being investigated.
