He said that security forces were sent for patrolling after receiving information about the presence of Maoists in Abujhmad area on the border of Narayanpur and Kanker districts. Officials said that when the team reached the area, the Naxalites started firing at around 8 am today. Later the soldiers also retaliated.
He said that intermittent firing is going on from both sides. Information has been received about the security personnel being safe in this incident. A search operation is being conducted in the area. Officials said that more information is being taken regarding the encounter.
