Sailor missing after fire breaks out on INS Brahmaputra

Mumbai. A sailor is missing after a fire broke out on the Navy’s multi-purpose warship ‘INS Brahmaputra’ in Mumbai port. An official gave this information. An official release said, “A fire broke out on the Indian Navy’s multi-purpose warship ‘INS Brahmaputra’ on the evening of July 21 when it was being repaired at the Navy’s Mumbai port.

It said, “The ship’s crew, with the help of firefighters, brought the fire under control by the morning of 22 July.” The release said that the ship tilted to one side (towards the port) on Monday afternoon. It said, “Despite all efforts, the ship could not be straightened. The ship is tilting even more near its ‘berth’ (anchor) and is currently resting on one side.” The release said, “All the workers, except a junior sailor, have been traced and the search for the missing sailor is on. The Indian Navy has ordered an investigation into the accident.”
