South Africa take a 239-run lead over West Indies

Providence: With the help of half-centuries from Aiden Markram and Kyle Verreynne, South Africa took a lead of 239 runs on the second day of the second Test match against West Indies. South Africa, who scored 160 runs in their first innings, have scored 223 runs for five wickets in their second innings till the end of the second day’s play. The West Indies team was all out for 144 runs in their first innings.

Markram scored 50 runs while Warren is playing after scoring 51 runs. At the other end, Wiaan Mulder is playing after scoring 34 runs. Earlier, Jason Holder played an unbeaten innings of 54 runs for West Indies. He shared a 40-run partnership for the tenth wicket with Shamar Joseph (25) to bring West Indies close to South Africa’s score.

17 wickets fell on the first day and eight on the second day at the Providence Stadium. Wiaan Mulder took four wickets for South Africa. Jaden Seals, who took three wickets in the first innings for West Indies, has so far taken three wickets for 52 runs in the second innings. The first match played between these two teams in Trinidad was affected by rain and ended in a draw. After the two-Test match series, a series of three T20 international matches will be played between these two teams.
