Trains are being built by connecting them
To carry more goods in less time, two or three trains are being combined to form a freight train. According to information, about three such log haul freight trains are being operated on Raipur, Nagpur, Katni, Jharsuguda route in the zone.
That’s why long distance trains are running late
Passenger trains are being run slowly to send maximum coal to different states by running log haul goods trains. Due to this, almost all long distance trains are running late by hours. Passengers are facing problems in this scorching heat. Usually goods trains were being run one after the other, but currently log haul is being run by joining two or three goods trains. Empty racks as well as full racks. By joining two racks, more coal is being sent to the concerned institutes or states at the same time. Even after this, the supply of coal is decreasing. Due to log haul, passenger trains have to be stopped at stations and crossing points, because it takes a lot of time to pass through the log haul.
Connecting two racks
CPRO of South Eastern Railway, Vikas Kashyap, said that, on all the routes of the zone, log haul freight trains are being run by connecting two racks. This is helping in saving time and carrying more freight.
