UPSC cancels candidature of probationary IAS officer Pooja Khedkar

The Uncut

New Delhi. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday said it has cancelled the candidature of probationary IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer Pooja Khedkar and barred her from appearing in any future examination. The commission said in a statement, “UPSC has carefully examined the available records and found her guilty of violating the provisions of the CSE-2022 Rules.” It said that her provisional candidature for CSE-2022 (Civil Services Examination-2022) has been “cancelled” and she has been “permanently barred” from appearing in any future examination or selection.

The commission said that a show cause notice (SCN) was issued on July 18 to Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar for fraudulently obtaining more opportunities than the approved limit for the examination by giving her identity ‘fake’. The statement said that she had to give her reply to the SCN by July 25, but she sought time till August 4 to collect the necessary documents to give her reply. The commission said that the UPSC had given her a ‘last chance’ to give her reply by 3.30 pm on July 30, but she “failed to give her explanation within the stipulated time.”
