Hyderabad. Famous Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen has taken charge as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana Police. She handed over her appointment letter to Director General of Police Jitendra. An official release issued on Wednesday night said that the state government had issued orders to appoint Zareen as DSP (Special Police), after which she handed over her appointment letter to the DGP.
Zareen, a resident of Nizamabad district, has been a two-time world boxing champion and has also won a gold medal in the Commonwealth Games and a bronze medal in the Asian Games. The release said that she had recently participated in the Olympics held in Paris. Additional Director General of Police (DGP) (personnel in charge of law and order) Mahesh M. Bhagwat congratulated Nikhat Zareen.
