4 years’ record broken under MNREGA in Chhattisgarh

Raipur. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Chhattisgarh has again picked up the pace of development. As a result of this, the record of 4 years under MNREGA has been broken in Chhattisgarh. In Chhattisgarh, MNREGA is not only providing employment opportunities to the laborers but is also bringing about a vast change in their lives. The state of Chhattisgarh is setting new records in the implementation of MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme). In the financial year 2024-25, 2 crore 57 lakh jobs were created in the month of April and 3 crore 15 lakh jobs were created in the month of May, thus by creating employment of more than 5 crore 82 lakh man days till May, a new achievement has been achieved by achieving the figures of man days created in the months of April and May of the last four financial years. In the financial year 2021-22, 4 crore 81 lakh jobs were created till May, in the year 2022-23, 1 crore 19 lakh jobs were created till May, in the year 2023-24, 4 crore 49 lakh jobs were created till May and in the year 2024-25, 5 crore 72 lakh jobs were created till May. Under MNREGA, 10 crore 93 lakh man days were created in the last 6 months and 1 lakh 73 thousand construction works were completed.

Under the leadership of the Chief Minister of the state Vishnudev Sai, livelihood promotion and availability of employment is being ensured to the last person in the last row in rural areas. Along with providing employment to rural workers, work is also being done towards water conservation. More than 59 thousand workers are getting employment every day in the construction of Amrit Sarovar, which is the highest in the country. The work of the state in the implementation of Amrit Sarovar has been appreciated at the central level. A target has been set to construct Amrit Sarovar in 8966 Gram Panchayats in the next four years. In this way, every Gram Panchayat of the state is being benefited from this scheme.

Deputy Chief Minister of the state and Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Vijay Sharma said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, under the Niyyad Nellnar scheme, 87 villages in the Maoist-affected area have been identified and large-scale works have been approved under the MNREGA scheme, providing regular employment opportunities, which is providing employment to the villagers at the local level in the said interior areas. Under MNREGA, a positive effort is being made to raise the standard of living of the forest rights leaseholder families through beneficiary-oriented works. For this, instructions have been given to the departmental officers from the state level to do regular review. Continuous efforts are being made to implement MNREGA in the rural areas of the state in accordance with the long-term intention of employment generation as well as livelihood promotion. The result of regular review in this direction and better implementation strategy from the state level is that MNREGA is setting new records.
