Raipur. Chhattisgarh’s main opposition party Congress has demanded immediate registration of FIR in the Bemetara explosion case and formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter. Congress has also demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore each to the families of those killed in the accident and employment to one member of the family. One person died and at least seven people were injured in the explosion at Special Blast Limited near Pirda village in Berla development block of Bemetara district on the 25th of this month. Here, rescue workers have also found body parts in the debris.
Leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh Assembly, Dr. Charan Das Mahant, in a statement on this accident, has said that the explosion in Special Blast Limited is the result of gross negligence and this accident has happened due to the negligence of the state government. Mahant has said, “If the industrial health and safety officers had ensured compliance of standards in the gunpowder factory, this accident would not have happened. It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister and Labor Minister do not realize their responsibilities. They do not even have time to visit the accident site and offer a few words of condolence to the families of the deceased.”
The Leader of Opposition has demanded that for the livelihood of the victim’s family, the factory management should give compensation of one crore rupees to the family members of the deceased and the state government should give a job to one member of the deceased family. Mahant has said that since the FIR has not been registered even four days after the incident, it is clear that the state government is trying to save the culprits. He said that this is a case of criminal negligence, so the FIR should be registered immediately. He has demanded the arrest of the manager and formation of an SIT to investigate the matter.
