Five Naxalites arrested in Sukma, explosives seized

Sukma. Police arrested five Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district and recovered explosives including a two-barrel grenade launcher and a tiffin bomb from them. An official gave this information on Sunday. He said that on Saturday, the District Reserve Guard (DRG), ‘Bastar Fighters’ and the district force had carried out a joint operation in the Jagargunda police station area. During the operation, the security team arrested the Naxalites.

The arrested Naxalites were identified as Hemla Pala (35), Hemla Hunga (35), Sodi Deva (25), Nuppo (20) and Kunjam Masa (28), residents of Chintalnar police station area, and were all active as militia members in the Surpanguda area. Two country-made barrel grenade launcher (BGL) shells, a tiffin bomb, seven gelatin sticks, nine detonators, explosive powder and other materials used for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from them, officials said.
