Narayanpur. An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawan was injured on Wednesday due to alleged accidental firing in Naxal-affected Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. Police gave this information on Wednesday. Police officials said that constable Manish M of 53rd battalion of ITBP was injured due to alleged accidental firing from the government rifle. He told that Manish was accidentally shot at around 9.30 am today in the ITBP camp located in Narayanpur city, in which he got injured.
Police officials said that after the incident, the soldier was taken to the district hospital and later he was sent to Raipur for better treatment. Manish is a resident of Kerala. He said that preliminary investigation has revealed that this incident happened when the soldier was checking his government rifler before going on duty and the exact information about the reasons for the incident will be available only after investigation. Police officials said that the police have registered the case and the matter is being investigated.
