Stepfather held guilty for murder of actress Laila Khan, five others

Mumbai. The Mumbai sessions court convicted Parvez Tak of murdering his stepdaughter and actress Laila Khan, her mother and Laila’s four siblings in 2011. Tak was found guilty of murder and destruction of evidence, among other offenses under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The court will hear arguments on the punishment period on May 14.

Tak was the third husband of Laila’s mother Selina. Actress Laila, her mother and her four siblings were murdered in their bungalow in Igatpuri in Nashik district of Maharashtra in February 2011. The prosecution had said that after an argument over properties, Tak first killed Selina and then Laila and her four siblings. The murders came to light a few months later when Tak was arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The decomposed bodies were later recovered from the bungalow. The prosecution examined 40 witnesses against Tak.
