Boman Irani’s film ‘The Mehta Boys’ will be screened at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival

New Delhi: Actor Boman Irani’s film ‘The Mehta Boys’ will be screened at the 15th Chicago South Asian Film Festival on September 20, the filmmakers said on Monday. This is Irani’s first film as a director, who is known for films like the ‘Munnabhai’ series, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’. He is also its writer and producer.

Irani has written the story with Oscar award winning writer Alexander Dinelaris Jr. Alexander Dinelaris received the Oscar award for the 2014 film ‘Birdman’.

‘The Mehta Boys’ is based on the relationship of a father and son who have differences of opinion. However, circumstances lead to them spending 48 hours with each other.

The roles of father and son are played by Irani and Avinash Tiwari. This film will later be made available to the people on the OTT platform ‘Prime Video’.

Irani and Dinelaris Jr. will be in conversation on the writing process of “The Mehta Boys” on September 21, following the film’s premiere at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, which will be held from September 19-22.
