The Uncut

New Delhi. CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, who allegedly slapped actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport last month, has been shifted to a unit in Bengaluru pending a disciplinary inquiry, official sources said on Wednesday.

This incident happened with the newly elected MP Ranaut when she was going to Delhi on June 6. Soon after that, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) suspended Kaur. An FIR was also registered against Kaur on the complaint of CISF. Sources said that Kaur is suspended and has been posted in the 10th Reserve Battalion in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, till the disciplinary inquiry continues.

He said that he has been sent to this unit to ensure impartiality in the investigation of this incident. According to sources, a senior commandant level officer is investigating this incident and statements of the constable, his colleagues present at the airport that day, the shift in-charge and some airline officials are being recorded. He said that the investigation will take some time after which an appropriate decision will be taken.

Kaur hails from Kapurthala district of Punjab and joined CISF in 2009. She has been in the Aviation Security Group of CISF at Chandigarh Airport since 2021. No vigilance inquiry has been conducted against her so far during her tenure in CISF nor has she received any punishment. Her husband was also posted at Chandigarh Airport. Kaur was probably angry with Ranaut over her stand on the farmers’ movement in the country. Ranaut (38) has been elected as a Lok Sabha member from Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh.
